Parenting is the most important thing we have to do in our life. Every little thing we do our kids take in like sponges. We don’t realize how receptive they are. Make some quality time with your child each and every day: turn off your cell phone, TV and any other distraction. Just spend time playing with your child, reading to him or her, or any other activity you think would work for you.
Children seek attention: don’t reward bad behavior with attention. If you always respond to your child’s tantrums, they will just keep coming and even get worse. Ignore bad behavior as long as you can.
Encourage their creativity. A lot of parents fail to do this and that’s a shame because you might have an artist growing up without even knowing it.
Answer all their questions with patience. Kids ask a lot of questions and expect answers from us, the parents. If you don’t answer their questions, they’ll not come to you with their problems in the future and that may lead to trouble.
Praise every little accomplishment they make. This will raise their self confidence.
Create a family routine by which you all sit down together at least once a day. This is important to create a structure for your children.
There are many more things we as parents need to learn. To do so we have to educate ourselves as parents. Don’t be a parent who makes mistakes with their kids. Your children will thank you for it.
